CLOVERLEAF CINEMA

This was a fairly busy theatre located behind Cloverleaf Mall on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield, VA, until it closed around the year 2000. I saw many flicks here, including "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier." It was a pretty decent place to see movies, with lots of parking. Cloverleaf Mall was once the place to shop, but once Chesterfield Towne Center up the road caught on, that was the end of Cloverleaf Mall. JC Penny closed up, along with many shops. The last time I was there, Radio Shack was one of the few places still open. Eventually, the entire mall was demolished, and a Kroger took it's place.

The sign seen from Midlothian Turnpike as you turn into Cloverleaf Mall.

Here's a closer view of that sign. You can see, even offering eight screens, this theatre couldn't survive against the bigger theatres around town.

I always thought the buzzing electric tower was a neat touch.

Here's a closer shot.

If you click on the pic, you can see the sign. "All shows between 4:00 & 6:00 are $4.25."
