AUCTION GAMES SALES

RICHMOND, VA AUCTION

RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

DECEMBER, 2007

This was the second coin-op auction I have attended, which came to the Richmond International Raceway for a second year, and works for me, since it's only about a half hour from my house.  If you want to see what last year was like, check out my Pingeek's News Archives.

I bought my Vivitar camera along, like last year, but brought cheap Sunbeam batteries, which didn't last very long, unlike Duracells, so there's some pics I missed, most notably two popular Bally electromechanical pins: Nip-It and Captain Fantastic, the latter of which had a really nice playfield, but yet was a buyback at $500.  Go figure.

I missed the Friday Buy It Now preview which was from 4-8 pm, approximately, but was at the auction on Saturday.  Bidding started around 11 am and ended around 4 pm, with pick up Saturday evening only.  I wrote down many of the items with final bid price, which can be viewed HERE.

Be sure to check out Auction Game Sales' site to see if they are coming to a town near you!

I noticed when I first walked in, there were a lot more pins at the auction, then last year. There were two of some titles, including Checkpoint, Terminator 2, High Roller Casino, and maybe a few others.

This Gameplan Sharpshooter pin sold for $225. I almost bid on it, but couldn't hear the sound, but it still might have worked.

The playfield was pretty decent, other than a drop target that could have used a new decal.  The playfield's drop target arrangement is nearly identical to Gottlieb's Sky Jump.

Other titles included Batman, Dracula, and Lazer Ball, which sold as a Buy It Now for $231, on Friday.

Here's a shot of Batman's playfield.

I didn't write down how much The Getaway: High Speed II went for.

This Checkpoint looked like it had some issues, like a missing display.

Skylab was working though.

Skylab's playfield.

Gorgar's playfield.

This Bally Freedom pin was in pretty good shape, although the flippers were a bit weak. It sold for $350.
