On the weekend of Friday the 13th, October, 2006, Pingeek headed to York, PA for the one and only York Show (aka The White Rose Gameroom Show), held annually at The York Fairgrounds and Expo Center. Pingeek has attended this show since 2000, and this year happened to be the 10th Anniversary Show. The video opens on Thursday the 12th with Brandon Spencer of Spencer Pinball Repair showing us his Halloween Haunted House garage and an Elvira And The Party Monsters pinball machine. Next, it's setup time at the show, starting with Jeff Lawton (Mr. Bingo). Jeff shares a couple of bingo tech tips and also shows how to set up a bingo game. During the filming of this scene, the head of the Bounty bingo game Jeff was setting up fell backward onto the tailgate of the truck but fortunately was undamaged and nobody was injured. Next, it's two Gottlieb wedgehead classics shown back to back, Tropic Isle and Diamond Jack. The next Gottlieb pin shown is quite unique, a one of a kind Critical Mass. It was a game that was never completed until just recently, by Eric Selak, co-organizer of The York Show, and making it's appearance for the 10th anniversary show. 1600 hours and four and a half years after Eric began this project, we see the game in action, played by Mickey Treat of The Rochester Gameroom Show. While filming this scene, Mickey scored the all time high on this game of 417,000, including simultaneous multiball on both levels! The next game shown is yet another one of a kind game, an Eight Ball Deluxe cocktail pinball machine, owned by Todd Tuckey of TNT Amusements. Next is a Gottlieb Count-Down shown during one of the tournaments. The next game shown is a vintage Gottlieb Miss Annabelle woodrail pin, and then a more modern game, a Gottlieb Devil's Dare pinball machine. Then it's back to woodrails with a rare Gottlieb Pin Wheel and then a Bally Speakeasy solid state pinball machine. Since this is a gameroom show, there's more than just pinball. Also featured are two jukeboxes back to back, inside and out: an 80's Rowe and a 70's Rockola. The last part of the dvd features Eric Selak explaining in detail about the one of a kind Critical Mass pinball machine he built after Gottlieb had decided to cancel the project in 1982 even though a functional prototype had been built. Eric goes over the cabinet design, circuit boards, programming, and points out the playfield features of this unique game. $10 for the dvd, plus $2.00 to cover first class shipping anywhere in the USA.
