TRON

 pin sighting screen shots

Here are several screen shots from the 80's classic "Tron," and a few extras as well. If you can identify any of the mystery stuff I couldn't figure out, please email me. Thanks, Pingeek.

The legendary "Flynn's," back when arcades were everywhere.

46 seconds into the movie, the pins seen from left to right include, "Tri-Zone," "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind," "Power Play," "Meteor," and "Ali." On the far left is a Midway "Sea Wolf," one of the first videogames I played when I was a kid.

On the right is a "Battlezone" vid, but what's the vid on the far right of this pic?

These folks are playing a 1979 "Atari Football" cocktail vid.

Not sure what game is on the left, but the vids in front of the kid and on the right are "Asteroids Deluxe," made by Atari in 1980.

The vids from left to right are a 1976 Kee Games "Sprint 2" racing game, a 1979 "Atari Basketball," and a 1980 Stern "Berzerk."

This is the billboard on top of the arcade.

Speaking of which, the neon on the right is animated.

See how it appeared to move.

On the right, going up the steps to Flynn's office, are what appears to be Atari posters.

On disc 1 of "Tron," "The Tron Phenomenon," 36 seconds, and 1 minute, 54 seconds into this bonus feature, you can see a "Whirlwind" pin on the left. On the back wall, "Tron" of course, but notice on the bottom right of the marquee, what appears to be a route operator sticker. To the right, "Robotron," "Defender" (with black tape over the marquee), and "Space Invaders."

Also on this documentary, a shot of the "Tron" crew, which apparently included Mickey Mouse as Tron.

Cool poster.

You can see the next two screen shots under the disc called "Special Features" click on arcade sketches under "Design" then "The Electronic World" then "Dillinger's Office and Flynn's Arcade."

Here are some screen shots from the sequel, "Tron: Legacy," starting at 18 minutes, 42 seconds into the movie.

The arcade isn't looking too good.

Auction time, just kidding.

He should probably call an electrician first.

The videogame on the right, across from the "Flynn's" mat is "Mario Bros." The game on the right by the door appears to be a gun game, from the 30's maybe. If you can identify anything else picture here, you probably don't need glasses.

Some vintage gumball and/or prize machines and vintage contents inside, and on the left, a "Defender" videogame. On the right is a better shot of the sheriff gun game or whatever it's called, and to the right of that, Atari's 1989 "Hard Drivin'," which, by the way, can be found at Timeline Arcade in Hanover, PA, an awesome retro classic arcade with over 100 videogames and vintage pinball machines.

Check out the "Flynn's House Rules" sign on the left.

No arcade is complete without the actual "Tron" videogame, which can also be played at Timeline Arcade in Hanover, PA.

The actual game released by Bally/Midway in 1982, shows their logo on the left part of the marquee, but I think the "Encom" thing is pretty neat, and would make a great repro marquee replacement.
