York Show 2006 in the news
| The York Show (aka The White Rose Gameroom Show), is my
favorite show of all time. It takes place every year around the
middle of October at The York PA Fairgrounds. This year's show is
just around the corner, which will be taking place on the weekend of
October 13th. Here's an interesting article from The York Dispatch,
dated Thursday, October 12, 2006, offering a sneak peek at the upcoming
show, a little bit of the show's history, and of course, the debut of the
one of a kind "Critical Mass," Gottlieb pinball machine.
This was the tenth anniversary show, and probably one of the most eventful
ones ever. I have a dvd for sale that documents Jeff Lawton, (aka
Mr. Bingo), setting up a Bally Bounty bingo pinball machine, and as he was
doing so, the 240 lb head of the game swung back and almost shattered into
pieces. I also interviewed a couple of jukebox dealers, and of
course, the rare "Critical Mass" pinball machine is featured in
great detail, including the history of this unique game. You can
read more about my dvd for sale HERE.
This was a large article, and I am using a three year old hp scanjet scanner, with an 8.5 x 11 area, so the article is divided up in sections. Click on a section to read this article in big text. After reading this article, check out The York Show's official site at (http://www.theyorkshow.com) for more info about the show. Don't miss my Pinball Show Archives to see seven years of my stories and hundreds of photos from the show. See you there! Pingeek. |
